A lot has happened to David and me in the six years since I graduated from Rosedale. We got married, moved to a northern Indiana community where we knew no one, had three sons, and continued to pursue higher education. I studied sociology and music at Bethel College while David began his doctoral work in American History at the University of Notre Dame. After I finished my Bachelors degree, I continued my study of sociology at Notre Dame as well. This spring we graduated--finally!--after six long, invigorating years.

We don‘t know where we‘re headed from here, but we have a vivid sense of where we‘ve come from. Rosedale provided a great foundation for our future studies. I remember the critical thinking skills cultivated in theology courses; the principles of peace, justice, and simplicity inculcated in discussions with professors; the spirituality nurtured in chapel services; and the ideals of love and mutuality in marriage modeled by professors.

Rosedale served us well, as it has for thousands of others. That‘s the magic of Rosedale—it prepares its students for life, whether in academia, construction, ministry, or stay-at-home parenting. We‘re glad we went to Rosedale and would do it all over again.
