Topics

Christian Ethics
Christians want to make their ethical decisions Biblically, but in hard cases we often jump to other ways of solving ethical problems, or make emergency changes as to how we interpret the Bible. These sessions look at ethics as a way of deciding right and wrong, and keeping it Biblical. This is not a seminar designed to tell you what to think about a given topic in the news; it is a seminar about how to think about issues as a believer in Jesus Christ who believes that the Bible does have answers for us.

Session 1.       What is ethics? What are Christian ethics?
Session 2.       Moral Dilemmas. From driving too fast to protecting the innocent.
Session 3.       Ethical decisions.

World Religions
How do we understand other religions? How can we make our religion understood to others? Even some of the more remote and rural areas are seeing Temples & Mosques and religions that at one time were exotic. The chance of meeting an adherent to another religion raises a big question for believers in Christ. Is Jesus the only way to God?

Session 1.       What is religion? How did we get so many?
Session 2.       Examples: Primal religions, Modern Religions.
Session 3.       Jesus and other religions.

Anabaptism, does it matter anymore?
Anabaptism is about beliefs, not family trees. It is a vision of the Christian life and church that an outsider can embrace. I know, I did it.

Session 1.       Who were the Anabaptists? Beliefs.
Session 2.       Is this an ethnic group or a church? Beliefs.
Session 3.       Why it still matters.

The Gospel of John in 3 Easy Lessons
What is the basic point of the Gospel of John? Identity, identity, identity.

Session 1.       The prologue & signs.
Session 2.       The Upper Room
Session 3.       The Passion, the Resurrection, the Epilogue
