Cost: $600,000

Much-needed campus upgrades will help our students know that their needs are a priority for us. These improvements will also create a positive first impression of our campus for prospective students and supporters. This initiative will be the most expensive and, in some ways, the most labor-intensive part of RBC's Vision Plan, but we believe it is imperative that we move ahead with it.
As funds allow, we will:
- Upgrade cafeteria and food service
- Increase the food budget and move to a higher grade buffet service.
- Redecorate the cafeteria and food service area, providing a more pleasant dining atmosphere for our students.
- Remodel restrooms in the cafeteria building.
- Enhance campus exterior
- Upgrade general landscaping, exterior lighting, and sidewalks; add trees.
- Improve our campus entrance with new signs, fencing and landscaping.
- Create a campus focal point via a symbolic, landscaped work of art.
- Purchase a gazebo as an outdoor gathering place for small groups.
- Address key issues of space, information technology, safety, and maintenance
- Provide filtered wireless internet access to key areas of campus.
- Reorganize campus space and technology to gain full use of the classroom building and maximize efficient use of other facilities.
- Purchase a dorm fire alarm system and upgrade fire safety measures.
- Re-roof cafeteria and classroom building and address facility infrastructure needs.
- Upgrade gym and recreation equipment
- Purchase bleachers, folding chairs, weight room and game room equipment.
- Upgrade sports equipment and storage.
- Remodel and refinish gym stage area, improve stairway area.
- Purchase "glass" backboards and refinish gym floor.
- Purchase grand piano for chapel. Music is central to RBC's ministry. As a college we need to have a concert quality piano for musical programs and student use.
- Upgrade apartment décor. We use these facilities to host visitors, guest faculty, and board members. Improvements would include new furniture, general repairs, and carpet replacement.
- Upgrade dorms. Students spend more time in dorms than any other place on campus. We made major improvements several years ago, and wish to address those areas that still need work: the men's bathroom, and the laundry rooms, student lounges, and carpeting in both dorms.
- Vehicle replacement. The college van will need to be replaced within the next few years. In light of expected growth and recruitment/promotional strategies, we may need other vehicles as well.
- Project coordination. Our existing maintenance staff will need help to accomplish so many capital projects, both in terms of labor and management. Funding is included for additional staffing and/or outsourcing needs.
